Harmony Bridge Hack: 350 Addresses Identified in $100M Heist

• Crypto tracker MistTrack has identified 350 addresses associated with the Harmony Bridge hack in June, which was perpetrated by North Korea’s Lazarus Group.
• The funds were transferred through various exchanges and mixers in an attempt to avoid detection.
• Harmony offered a $1 million reward for the return of the funds, which has not been accepted.

On June 23rd of 2022, the Harmony bridge was the victim of a devastating attack that saw the loss of approximately $100 million. This attack was later identified as being perpetrated by North Korea’s Lazarus Group. To track the stolen funds, MistTrack, a crypto tracking platform, has followed the funds and identified 350 addresses associated with the attack.

The funds were transferred through various exchanges and mixers in an attempt to avoid detection. Specifically, the attackers ran 85,700 ether (ETH) through the Tornado Cash mixer and then deposited them at various addresses. These funds remained at these addresses until January 13th, when they were transferred to a Railgun, a privacy system on Ethereum that provides anonymization. From there, the funds were moved to the 350 addresses identified by MistTrack.

In response to the attack, Harmony offered a reward of $1 million for the return of the funds. Unfortunately, this offer has not been accepted and the funds remain at the 350 addresses identified by MistTrack.

The crypto detectives have done their best to identify the addresses associated with the attack and have traced the funds back to their source. It remains to be seen whether the funds will ever be recovered and whether Harmony will ever get its money back. In the meantime, the team at MistTrack continues to work diligently to identify any further movements of the stolen funds.
